“Every art cuts away whole areas of human experience to focus our attention on a selected few elements. Then you can see those elements as you never have before.
Painting cuts away sound and words so you can see better, music cuts away words and vision so you can hear better.”
~ Robert Olen Butler, from Alleys of Eden
Meditation isn't only about sitting still with your eyes closed. Mindful walking is a form of meditation that requires conscious awareness of the present moment, your body, and connection to your surroundings.
This 3-hour workshop includes a myth-busting introduction to mindfulness and a chance to explore the Columbus Museum of Art while practicing mindful walking and visual-based mindful awareness exercises. There will be guided instruction, opportunities to ask questions and customize your exploration, and process this unique experience as a group.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking.
This workshop is sponsored by JamesCare for Life and offered free of charge to adult cancer survivors and caregivers.
Registration is required.
